Drilldown plots can be used to show the variation, along a line of sight, of various properties within the plasma. The window can be accessed by clicking on the Drilldown button in the main window when a single time step is selected.
The positions of individual detector pixels may be viewed by clicking the Draw wire frame box. If there are many lines of sight, the wire grids that surround each detector pixel can merge together, giving a uniform image. The image which can then be magnified to view individual pixels. The plot is shown with flat shading only.
The unfiltered detector image is shown. For a time-dependent simulation, if there is no image for the time selected, a blank image will be shown. The window first appears with the cell selection tool cursor. Clicking on a cell will cause the cell's intensity value to be shown below the plot, and its x and y coordinates and intensity value to be shown in the tool bar. Double clicking on the cell will transfer the cell information to the Selected LOS display. The data available for a drilldown plot are shown in the boxes below this display. For plots vs. depth, either mass depth or depth may be selected using the X axis radio buttons. To see a drilldown plot, select a line of sight from the list in the Line of sight box and either select one or more variables from the Data available ... boxes or click on the Display All button. The line of sight data may take several minutes to calculate. When the calculation is complete, the chosen graph windows will be shown.
A different time step can be used by selecting a time from the Time step combo box, or by selecting a time in the main window and clicking on the Drilldown button.
Notes on the drilldown plots:
If ionization fraction and/or level population data are available, they will be listed as available plots. e.g.:
For the level populations, if an ion stage does not have a '+' next to it, there are no data for any levels for that ion stage.
The number of population plots is limited initially to 25. This number can be changed in Preferences.
The rate coefficients for a selected level in a selected zone along a line of sight can be displayed from a plot of the populations for that level. See Rate Coefficients.
For information on how to modify the plot parameters or save images or data from the graphs, see the PrismPLOT Users Guide.
